Is this awesome or what? I had no idea this existed until yesterday.
By my count, I had about 90% of the games shown in this film at one point. Oh, War in Europe, how I miss thee…

Nifty. My first wargame was a birthday present when I turned 10 or 11; SPI's Battle for Pea Ridge. Fortunetly it was suitable for solo games as I don't think I ever found anyone to play it with. I miss tabletop wargames, everything seems to be either miniature based or over the internet.
That's the first time I have seen that as well. It is not the first time I have seen where they filmed it as that was their play test area. A friend of mine and I used to travel into NYC on Friday nights and help with the playtesting in the mid to late 70's.
Wish I had War in Europe though I do have War in the Pacific and Campaign for North Africa.
I owe you a call Joe, just trying to find some time inbetween things as I started physical therapy two nights a week this week and the other two nights are somewhat occupied by my son's Tae Kwon Do. I will get back to you soon.
Thanks for posting this! My introduction to the hobby wasn't through rpgs, but through wargaming. I've played old SPI and Avalon Hill games since I was a kid. This brings back a lot of memories.
Ha! Bill, we did the same thing. My dad would drive my friend Tom into the SPI headquarters to playtest. We must've been 13 or 14 at the time.
I remember testing Star Rebellion (or whatever it ended up being called), their Star Wars ripoff, and more than a few eastern front tank games.
No problem about getting back to me– it'll happen. Ever play Invasion: America?
Hexes, beautiful hexes! Star Force was my SPI game of choice. I think I ordered it from an ad in Games magazine. Thanks for sharing!
Wow a First world war map in action. That was one huge map I to swipe nearly all the card tables in the house to set it up.
Reminds me I have some SPI games I need to get rid of.
I'd be happy to take them off your hands, sight unseen, Andreas. I got rid of 90% of my collection years ago during a move and have regretted it ever since.
Wow BattleFleet Mars and World War 3! So thats what I looked like!
