Champions Complete is fully compatible with all sixth edition Hero System products.
Champions, along with Villains and Vigilantes and Marvel Super Heroes, saw a lot of action around our gaming table in high school. I haven’t played it recently, but I do own a lot of the 5th edition Hero System stuff, and might want to give the new version of Champions a try. Certainly a nice price-point nowadays.
We played a lot of 2nd, 3rd and 4th ed in the eighties and nineties, one of my longest running campaigns was in champions. Lots of good times were had. But I have not played in years now, 5th ed got a little bloated for me, and I never picked up sixth. This is tempting, and the price looks right.
Champions Complete is actually already out and available! I've got a copy and have been working my way through it.
I've always lingered on the edge of the Hero system, liking its central ideas but struggling with the system's bulk (at least in the 5th and 6th editions). I'm hoping the new CC helps out in that regard.
I haven't played Champions or any Hero System game in decades. Character creation was always fun trying to maximize your points to fit your character concept. I bought 5th Edition when it came out and the new Fantasy Hero books to try and get a few of my friends to try something other than D&D. Sadly, it didn't take too well with them. How is this new version different?
